Abstract

Makalah ini membincangkan proses pembinaan bahan bantu mengajar
(BBM) yang bersifat konkrit dalam pembelajaran bahasa Melayu. Bahanbahan
bantu mengajar yang dibina pula terdiri daripada model istana
dan kapal dan bertemakan cerita rakyat yang diolah semula isi
kandungannya. Proses pembinaan model ini telah melibatkan empat
proses, iaitu memilih, mengolah, membina, dan menggunakannya dalam
proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran asas membaca kanak-kanak
pemulihan khas. Kajian ini melibatkan seramai lapan orang kanak-kanak
pemulihan khas Tahun Tiga daripada sebuah sekolah rendah di Puchong,
Selangor. Hasil dapatan kajian ini mendapati empat proses yang
diaplikasikan semasa membina bahan bantu mengajar itu menjadikan
BBM yang dihasilkan berkualiti tinggi dan memenuhi objektif
pembelajaran yang digariskan. Pengaplikasian prinsip-prinsip ini bukan
sahaja mampu menghasilkan bahan yang menepati standard pengajaran, malah aspek kualiti, kos, dan masa juga dapat dipertimbangkan semasa
membina bahan-bahan tersebut.


This article discusses the development process of concrete-based teaching aids
within the learning of the Malay Language. With the theme of local folklore,
of which the contents were adapted, the developed teaching aids comprise models
of a castle and a ship. The model development process involves four phases –
selection, adaptation, development and execution of the models within the
teaching and learning of reading among special treatment children. This
research involves eight year – three remedial education children from a primary
school in Puchong, Selangor. The findings of this study illustrate that the four
phases applied throughout the teaching aid development process contribute
towards high quality teaching aids, which thus met the stated learning objectives.
The application of certain principles does not only help produce aids which
meet the teaching standard, but also allows aspects of quality, cost and time to
be taken into account while developing such materials.
