Malaysian Journal of Social Administration (e-ISSN:  2600-951X| Print ISSN: 1675-3925) is a prestigious open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal established in 2003 by the Department of Social Administration and Justice, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia. MJSA serves as a critical nexus for scholarly inquiry, facilitating a rigorous discourse on social policy frameworks and social work interventions designed to mitigate the complexities of contemporary social challenges. Dedicated to the advancement of evidence-based practice, the journal provides a platform for evaluating social welfare systems and the evolving socio-political landscape of contemporary administration.

The journal’s growth is anchored in the foundational contributions of the late Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Zainal Kling and the late Professor Dr. Abdul Hadi Zakaria. Professor Dr. Siti Hajar Abu Bakar Ah further solidified this legacy, serving as both the inaugural Chief Editor and Managing Editor.

Established as a single-volume annual publication, the journal has spent over two decades cultivating a rich archive of social policy research. Malaysian Journal of Social Administration is indexed in MyCite (Malaysian Citation Index), Crossref and Google Scholar, and other international abstracting and indexing databases, reflecting its academic recognition and global reach. The journal has formerly received national accreditation and is recognized by Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) under the Malaysian Journal Management System (MyJurnal). 

MJSA promotes a bilingual platform for the exchange of ideas in Bahasa Malaysia and English, catering to a diverse spectrum of international contributors.
